Ambiance Luxe Wedding | Waterfront Connecticut Wedding at Rocky Neck State Park {Photography by Kevin Kelly}

Mike and Sara were married this past weekend, September 12, 2009 at Rocky Neck State Park in Niantic, CT. Rocky Neck’s Pavilion faces the beach and ocean, and is available to rent for a wedding or special occassion, and is surrounded by beautiful park grounds. The Pavilion itself was built in 1936, and to rent the Pavilion call Sue at Rocky Neck! Sara, Liz, & I had a design meeting at Starbucks in Boston to review Sara’s favorite colors, bridesmaid’s dresses, centerpiece inspiration, lantern colors, and linens.

Sara was inspired by lively, colorful, and exciting scrapbook paper patterns. Sara designed her Invitations, Envelope Liners Save the Dates, Menus, Menus, Table Numbers, and Placecards on her own to highlight her favorite papers. She mixed and matched the papers to create an eclectic while still refined and personalized feel to her papers.

Sara started her day by getting her hair & makeup done at Salon Medusa in Norwich, CT. She finished getting ready at her Hotel with her bridesmaids. Her amazing photographer Kevin Kelley was there to catch all of the beautiful moments that unfolded while Sara was getting ready.

For their ceremony, Candi of Candi’s Floral Creations created these absolutely stunning floral pieces of artwork! She used Sara’s papers, dresses, and favorite colors as inspiration and chose the most beautiful Dahlias, Bells of Ireland, Hydrangea, and Roses to complete Sara and Mike’s floral design.

Rochelle and I found these beautiful Eyelet Paper Lanterns and lined Sara & Mike’s sea-view aisle with whimsical lanterns and curley-q shepherd’s hooks. Sara also created Reserved signs for her family for the first two rows of chairs at the ceremony. Candi’s arrangements looked so natural and so wild in front of the water and surrounded by trees. Perfect! We moved these arrangements up to the reception after the ceremony so the guests could enjoy them all night!

Sara’s MOH and bridesmaid’s bouquet had Dahlias, Roses, Hydrangea, and seeded eucalyptus, and were the perfect bridge between summer and the beginning of fall. Sara’s jade Nicole Miller bridesmaid’s dresses were simple and elegant. Sara chose two different dresses for her two sisters, by the same designer in the same color!

Sara’s placecards were also made of scrapbooking paper, all coordinating, with patterns that matched and coincided with each table number that was made with a different pattern.

In this shot you can see Rocky Neck’s rustic and exciting reception room which is extremely long and full of layout options. The pillars were made from trees from State Parks in CT. We were able to tie Sara & Mike’s lanterns to the pillars for a unique lighting design. Rochelle hung lanterns with satin ribbon from the ceiling of the reception space on natural sisal twine

We chose Sky Blue Pintuck Linens, Ice Blue Lamour Napkins, and a straight napkin fold to display Sara and Mike’s menus. We used Seafoam Lamour on the buffet tables to tie in Sara’s colors. Sara told Liz & I at her Initial Consultation that she wanted blue and green linens, blue to represent Sara’s eye color, and green for Mike’s eyes! Sara designed and sent out her menus to be professionally printed. She used the same flower design that she had used on her invitations, and beautifully displayed her menu choices from Cloud Nine Catering. Cloud Nine was fabulous from the moment we first visited them! Sara & Mike had a special Gluten-Free menu created, and Cloud Nine offered them a tasting of their choices. Cloud Nine did a beautiful job displaying their creations, and all of the guests enjoyed their fabulous food!

Sara and Mike wanted to keep their centerpeices romantic and whimsical and we composed an arrangement entirely of pillar candles and votives to mimic Sara’s inspiration centerpiece. Stasia placed all of the pillar candles as Candi & I sprinkled hydrangea petals, rose petals, and orchids between the candles.

Sara & Mike choreographed their first dance to “Lucky” by Jason Mraz. They delighted their crowd with turns and twists, and made Rochelle & I cry a little! We loved Sara’s dress by Vera Wang, and the beautiful bustle that Nardulli’s of Manchester created for Sara. Sara & I chose to put patterned lanterns over the dance floor, to separate it from the dining side of the room. John and Tim from Party Pro DJ, run by Beth Angel, did an amazing job keeping the party dancing all night long! They swing danced, danced to Madonna and MJ, and had an amazing time!

Since Sara & Mike were Full Service clients, Rochelle & I helped them find Hair & Makeup, a seamstress for Sara’s gown, their DJ, their florist, linens, Catering, and their Photographer Kevin Kelley from Kevin Kelley Photography
Sara & Mike’s cake had crumbs on the outside for a whimsical flair. Here you can see Sara & Mike’s gorgeous cake, made by Cloud Nine Catering and decorated on-site by Candi!

Thank you so much to Sara & Mike for allowing us to be a part of your amazing and unique day! We hope you are enjoying your honeymoon!

Ambiance Luxe Wedding | Connecticut Riverfront Wedding at the Gelston House {Photography Time Frozen}

Lisa & Rob called me a few months before their wedding to help them tie up the loose ends and the decor. I loved them from the instant I met them! Such an awesome, unique, and genuine couple. Their wedding took place on August 8, 2009 at the Gelston House in Haddam, CT.

The Gelston House sits in front of the Goodspeed Opera House and has amazing water views. The food is excellent and it is a perfect location for a small to medium sized wedding.

Recently rennovated, the Gelston house has beautiful chairs, an open, generously sized reception room, and beautiful surroundings! In good weather you can have your cocktail hour under this tent that is shared with restaurant guests. You can dine at the Gelston House to check out their food!

Since it was misting and on the edge of raining, rather than ruining Lisa’s beautiful dress, we chose to have Lisa & Rob’s ceremony inside, with their gerber daisy ceremony arrangements in front of the long, dramatic windows. We still had an amazing view!

I am looking forward to getting Lisa & Rob’s photos from their photographers, Time Frozen Photography. Keith & his wife were awesome to work with, and their work was gorgeous! They even attended the ceremony rehearsal to take some pre-wedding shots and check out the location and the best angles.

Lisa, Jenna, & I looked for gerber daisy ideas and came up with this simple, DIY centerpiece that I put together myself! We ordered the daisies from a local florist, I made the vases with ribbon and jewels that we shopped for together, and Nicole & I put the centerpieces together on site to keep the delicate gerbers fresh. The guests took these home and really enjoyed their unusual, whimsical nature.

Lisa & Rob’s placecards were some of my favorite placecards. We printed them in our shop on our big printer, and Jenna, Lyssa, and Rochelle helped me put them together. We also added the rhinestone!

We also scattered some rose petals on the tables, and left vases for Lisa and the girls to place their bouquets in at the head table. Lisa & I chose to go with simple off-white linens provided by the Gelston House.

Lisa & Rob chose to have a candy buffet for their guests. It was an amazing hit! The guests particularly loved the gumballs and jellybeans. For paper, Lisa asked me to make table numbers, labels for her candy buffet and signature cocktail, and even her ceremony programs featuring her and Rob’s engagement photo from Keith Claytor’s engagement session.

Here is a shot of the program at the reception. Below is a copy of the front cover close up, so you can see Keith’s awesome shot of Lisa & Rob at their engagement session. Jenna downloaded Lisa & Rob’s signature font for me. I love Jane Austen!

Lisa & Rob’s swiss dot buttercream cake was made by
Carissa Chanthavong, a friend of Lisa & Rob’s who makes delicious wedding and special occassion cakes out of Tolland CT. Everyone loved Lisa & Rob’s wedding cake!

Lisa & Rob, we truly enjoyed working with you to complete your wedding day visions. You are such an amazing couple and I can’t wait to spend more time with you as my season dies down! Much love to you both!

Ambiance Luxe Wedding | New Haven Connecticut Wedding at the New Haven Lawn Club {Photography by Binary Flips}

Diana & Alex were married yesterday at a Church in New Haven, and their ceremony was so beautiful! I loved their pastor and everything she chose to say. After the ceremony we had their wedding reception at the elegant New Haven Lawn Club.

Eileen Fogarty & The Very Best played both at the cocktail hour as a solo performer playing the piano, and as a full band at the reception. They were so amazing! The singers could sing anything from Frank Sinatra, to Etta James, and even Madonna! They were truly the best wedding band I have ever seen!

As the night progressed the lighting by Correlation Productions became increasingly more beautiful. We had such a great time! Thank you so much to all of our vendors, the photographers were Binary Flips, and I cannot wait to see their artful photographs and their interpretation of Diana & Alex’s beautiful day. Thank you so much to Diana & Alex for asking us to be a part of your wedding day! We couldn’t have enjoyed it more!

Ambiance Luxe Wedding | Manchester Connecticut Wedding at the Wickham Park {Photography by Erik Maziarz}

Sarah & Greg were married in Wickham Park, June 7, 2009. Their amazing photographer Erik Maziarz did such a gorgeous job on both their unbelievable Engagement Shoot and their Wedding Day photos. Let’s start with some of their engagement photos.

Here are a few of Erik’s photos from Sarah & Greg’s wedding day.

Sarah had her hair and make-up done at Studio Mac, in Windsor.

Sarah and Greg’s first time seeing each other on their wedding day. Erik set it up so that they could see each other for the first time in the Garden at Wickham Park.

Tyler, the ring bearer walking down the aisle. Isn’t he perfect? What a hairstyle!

JP Don Berry performing Sarah and Greg’s ceremony in the garden. It was a beautiful day!

We loved working with these two, they were full of positive energy and fun. Sarah and Greg are so in love! It doesn’t get better than this.
Erik took gorgeous photos of the girls and all of our details. Our bride, Sarah, is a florist at Jordan Florist in Windsor CT. Karen and her team there did such a beautiful job with Sarah’s flowers.

Sarah and her dad had their father and daughter dance inside Wickham Park’s Log Cabin.

Sarah and Greg had their first dance as newlyweds inside our beautifully decorated tent.
In order to see closer views of any of these photos click the photos to zoom in. Don Anderson of Tasteful Productions kept the music flowing and the guests dancing all night!

Sarah’s cake was one of the most fabulous pieces of art in a cake I have ever seen. We ordered a simple white swiss dot buttercream cake from Mozzicato’s Bakery in Hartford, CT. Karen from Jordan Florist adorned the cake with Sarah’s choice in flowers and dainty white butterflies. We set the cake on top of hydro grass and also used some grass to label the buffet items, which Rochelle worked on. Rochelle also created the lovely placecard arrangement and Sarah’s placecard board.

Wickham Park is located in Manchester, CT. The Log Cabin is available for weddings and has an adjoining white tent for dinner. Most of the dancing takes place in the Log Cabin where the bar is located. For more information about the Log Cabin at Wickham Park, contact Rhonda. If you’re interested in having your wedding at Wickham Park, we would love to work with you as well! We love this location!

Erik took a night photo of Sarah in Greg at the top of the hill where the Log Cabin is located. The Log Cabin overlooks the Hartford Skyline.

Visit Erik’s Blog for more photos of Sarah & Greg’s amazing wedding. Thank you so much to Erik, the Staff at Wickham Park, Jordan Florist, Tastebuds Catering, Tasteful Productions DJ Don Anderson, and all of Sarah & Greg’s vendors for making their wedding day so special. Thank you so much to Sarah & Greg for hiring us to make your wedding day complete!
